The people of the Polycentric Museum of Aigai

The Polycentric Museum is a modern, holistic approach to the connection between the archaeological site and the museum. It will encompass the section of the Aigai archaeological site that will open to the public in the near future, namely the Palace and the tomb cluster of Temenids, as well as the very famous to the wider public Aigai Royal Tombs Museum. It will also include the new central building, the Polycentric Museum gate with a large exhibition space and additional services for the visitors. The central building will be constructed soon on a plot of 140 ha on the west entrance to the village of Vergina.

The works for the construction of the central building of the Polycentric Museum and for the reshaping-highlighting of the royal necropolis and of the Aigai Palace will be implemented under the National Strategic Reference Framework. For the moment, a presentation of the personnel working in the «Reshaping-Highlighting of the Aigai Royal Necropolis and of the Palace, Phase C» project is available here, in the attached pdf documents.
